What a world we live in...

Hello Everyone,
Fall is my favorite time of year. The change in the horizon, the transition of nature, the cooler days. I love it. It means my work on the farm and gardens slows and I am not so busy canning and freezing. Freedom at last.
We often love the change in the seasons but we resist change in ourselves or how we live. We are in the middle of our illusion and it all seems normal. Normal to judge, fear, stress, and doubt. We keep it all hidden under the surface and want to take a pill to solve it. We want a quick fix. The ego is in control. We are creatures of habit. We are consumed with the bad habits of avoidance, blame, shame, guilt, and all out denial. I see the broader world as a reflection of us as individuals.
Look at the BP oil spill, it is a reflection of us.
First, they avoided dealing with the problems that were already showing up within the drilling rig. Next they denied that oil was leaking from the well after the rig exploded. Then officials minimized the amount of oil leaking into the ocean and the environmental impact.
Before congress all the corporations involved just blamed each other for the problems with no one wanting to take responsibility. Finally, government officials declared that the crisis was over, the oil was cleaned up and the rest is gone. Millions of barrels of oil just dissappeared under the surface of the ocean. It isn't our problem any more , right.
We sweep everything under the rug. We act like it never happened and never really deal with the issue. We are so good at telling ourselves what we want to hear not what we need to hear. We take the same actions in our daily lives. We know that the world is changing and we must change with it, yet we resist. We are all like alcoholics. We will not do anything about our situation until we are forced too. Soon enough we will be forced too.
Think about it!
Love Steven
